Shark IQ Robot™ XL Vacuum R101AEW With Self-Empty Base, Wi-Fi & Home Mapping Reviews

Design and Features

Shark IQ Robot™ XL Vacuum R101AEW With Self-Empty Base, Wi-Fi & Home Mapping features an all-black design that brings a clean and modern look to your space. This Shark IQ Robot™ Vacuum measures 12.9 x 12.6 x 3.5 inches (LWH) and weighs 5.87 pounds. The base of the Shark Robot™ Vacuum is about 15 inches high. Shark IQ Robot™ Vacuum won't win any style awards but for us, the design of the robot vacuum is less important than whether it works well or not.

Shark Self Cleaning Vacuum does not come with a remote, but users can control it using the Clean buttons and the physical Dock at the top of the device, by SharkClean app available for Android and iOS, or by voice command via Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant. The IQ Navigation module located between the Clean button and the Dock allows the robot to map the house and assess its location. A high-efficiency filter is fitted inside the robot's dustbin that traps dust, hummus, and allergens in the air as the Shark IQ Robot™ Self Empty vacuums.

At the bottom, the Shark Self Cleaning Vacuum is equipped with two side brushes and a self-cleaning brush roll that allows it to continuously filter pet and human hair into the dustbin. So it doesn't have the common problem with many robot vacuums - getting wrapped around the reel. The comb can do this because it has fins and bristles that "comb through the hair and actively remove it," says a Shark spokesperson.

Shark IQ Robot™ XL Vacuum R101AEW With Self-Empty Base, Wi-Fi & Home Mapping Review by TopFreeReviews

Shark Robot™ Vacuum operates with three power levels: Eco, Normal - default option, and Max. Max - as the name suggests - provides the strongest suction but also drains the robot's battery the fastest. Eco drains the battery the slowest but provides the least suction power. Some other robot vacuums have the ability to automatically increase suction when cleaning carpets and heavily soiled areas, but IQ Robot XL does not.

Shark IQ Robot™ Vacuum has Recharge and Resume feature. This feature is turned off by default, but we always recommend it for homes larger than 1,500 square feet. When we turned it on, the IQ Robot XL returned to the base to recharge when it was about to run out of battery and resume where it left off afterward. To enable/disable Recharge and Resume, we press and hold the Clean button for 15 seconds.

Shark IQ Robot™ XL Vacuum R101AEW With Self-Empty Base, Wi-Fi & Home Mapping also offers a feature called Evacuate and Resume for homes with pets. When we activated it, the robot returned to its base to empty the trash can after 30 minutes so it wouldn't be unduly clogged with pet hair, then resumed cleaning where it had left off. Shark says users shouldn't enable the feature if their home is smaller than 1,000 square feet. Users need to press and hold the Dock button for 15 seconds to enable/disable Evacuate and Resume.

We highly recommend this robot vacuum cleaner

The whole advantage of using a vacuum cleaner is cutting down on your housework. However, you need to regularly empty and clean the vacuum cleaner and this adds at least one chore to your list. If you are looking for a lower maintenance option then we recommend the Shark IQ Robot Self-Empty XL R101AE because it is quick, efficient and rarely jams, and has a large trash can in the base station that only needs to be emptied about once a month. In addition, users can control the robot from their phone or voice and set up a cleaning schedule so that it automatically works whenever they want. The vacuum starts mapping the house as it cleans so users can send it to specific rooms and create virtual no-go zones – a feature we don't get with basic robot vacuums. similar price. The Shark IQ Robot™ Self Empty is also an attractive option for pet owners thanks to its self-cleaning brush roll and enough power to suck hair from carpets.
